David Dolphin

From Waterford, David studied at the The University of Limerick for his undergraduate degree. There he joined the Computer Society, Skynet, and was was approached to run a streaming radio station for the University Students’ Union (Ragradio). ian was formed from the ashes of Radradio. David is currently working towards a masters degree at NUI, Galway.

A grumpy old engineer with a sense of decorum, Gareth keeps the young whipper-snappers in check. With production values coming out his XLR’s he’s always quick to point out workflow productivity enhancements and noise reduction measures… ors.

A secondary school student from Dublin, and the youngest regular on ILUG’s #linux, Patrick keeps all the oldies up and current with the Internets latest meme’s and $lolThings. But don’t be fooled, the hip veneer is only to fit in, underneath he’s a die hard BSD nut, and we’ll forgive his Apple leanings.

Shane Tuohy


Shane is a Computer Engineering PhD student at NUI, Galway and in his limited spare time, a freelance software developer. He joined ian at the start of the second season and has been a regular contributor ever since. Shane is an advocate for all things open source and is an avid Linux enthusiast.
